On Friday night a Florida man was arrested after Corbin Police responded to a call of someone shouting "shots fired" at the Corbin Kentucky NIBROC festival.
The claim sent festival-goers into a panic causing them to run from the area.
A short time after Corbin Police arrived on scene, they had a male game concession worker in custody. The police department posted a brief release on their Facebook page stating that: "There were NO SHOTS FIRED AT NIBROC TONIGHT. The employee has been taken into custody without incident."
WRIL has confirmed that the North American Midway Entertainment employee, 59-year-old Michael Marteney of Lakeworth, Florida, was arrested and booked into the Whitley County Detention Center at 12:53am Saturday the 12th.
Marteney has been charged with alcohol intoxication in a public place, wanton endangerment - 1st degree, falsely reporting an incident, terroristic threatening - 2nd degree, and disorderly conduct - 2nd degree.
