Pineville man arrested on assault charge

(Pineville, Ky.) At 3:00am Saturday morning January 12, 2019 - Bell County Dispatch received a call from a woman stating that her boyfriend had been stabbed in the face by a man identified as 55 year old Jeffery Holland.

Bell County Deputy Justin Patterson responded to the Flora Holland Lane residence, along with Bell County EMS, finding the victim - Josh Caldwell - suffering from a laceration to the jaw line and neck. Caldwell was taken from the scene to Middlesboro ARH due to weather conditions not permitting him to be flown out.

Deputy Patterson arrested Holland on scene after he admitted to cutting Caldwell with a pocket knife. The cause of the incident is still under investigation by Deputy Patterson.

Jeffery Holland was lodged in the Bell County Detention Center charged with Assault 1st degree.
