Pineville women arrested in Knox County on drug charges

From the Knox County Sheriff's Department -

On Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at approximately 1:00 am Knox County Deputy Mikey Ashurst conducted a traffic stop on Highway 3085 in Flat Lick.

While checking a female passenger, later identified as 29 year old Brittanie Akers of Pineville, Deputy Ashurst observed a syringe and a set of digital scales inside the vehicle. Deputy Ashurst also located a plastic bag containing suspected methamphetamine, another syringe, another set of scales and over $200 in cash.

During the arrest Akers gave Deputy Ashurst a false name and date of birth, but he was able to confirm her identity a short time later.

Akers was charged with Trafficking in Controlled Substance-1st Degree greater than 2 grams - Methamphetamine, Possession of Controlled Substance-1st Degree, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Giving Officer False Identifying Information.

She was also wanted on a Knox County Indictment Warrant for Trafficking in Controlled Substance-1st Degree, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Persistent Felony Offender I.

She was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center and being held on a $26,000 cash bond.
