Two arrested by HCSO for trafficking large amount of Meth and other drugs

(Smith, Ky.) – On Thursday November 14th at approximately 10:00 p.m., Deputies with the Harlan County Sheriff’s Office responded to a complaint of a vehicle parked at a vacant home in Smith. Upon arrival at the location, Deputies located the vehicle and made contact with two occupants. A third occupant fled the area on an ATV.

Upon making contact with the subjects and through further investigation a large quantity of crystal methamphetamine, prescription medications (Xanax, Gabapentin, Buprenorphine) and marijuana was discovered in the vehicle.

Over 70 grams of Methamphetamine was located and several bags were packaged for resale with a street value of over $7,000. Several items of drug paraphernalia were also discovered and $401 cash was seized.

Victor Stewart, 25, of Cawood was charged with Trafficking in Controlled Substance 1st Degree (Methamphetamine), Trafficking in Controlled Substance 2nd Degree, Trafficking in Controlled Substance 3rd Degree, Trafficking in Legend Drug, Trafficking in Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Criminal Trespassing 3rd Degree and Public Intoxication.

Lauren Dozier, 22, of Harlan was charged with Trafficking in Controlled Substance 1st Degree (Methamphetamine), Trafficking in Controlled Substance 2nd Degree, Trafficking in Controlled Substance 3rd Degree, Trafficking in Legend Drug, Trafficking in Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Criminal Trespassing 3rd Degree and Public Intoxication.

Both subjects were lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center and bond is currently set at $5,000 full cash.

Additional Charges are pending. The case remains under the investigation by the Harlan County Sheriff’s Office.
