18 year old King arrested on drug trafficking charges

An 18-year-old out of Middlesboro once accused of drug activity out of a storage unit with another individual was arrested late Tuesday night March 19, 2019.


Kentucky State Police Trooper Josh Messer brought in 18-year-old Steven King on drug trafficking charges. He was lodged in the Bell County Detention Center just after 11pm charged with trafficking controlled substance 1st-degree, 1st offense greater than 2 grams - Methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia advertisement, and he was served five outstanding bench warrants for failure to appear in court. King is being held on a combined total cash bond of $75,000 for the drug charges and $2,000 for the other charges.


King and another man 19-year-old Dakota Owens - recently arrested for similar charges - were arrested February 11, 2019, in regard to drugs found at a storage unit on 15th street after Middlesboro police executed a search warrant at the storage unit finding over three ounces of what has been determined to be Methamphetamine. At the time of that arrest, no drug charges were lodged although both had outstanding warrants on file.


We will have full details shortly on Tuesday night's arrest of Steven King.


Dakota Owens remains jailed on a $30,000 cash bond from his arrest on February 14th by Officer Nick Capps. he is currently charged with buying or possessing drug paraphernalia, and trafficking controlled substance 1st-degree, 1st offense greater than 2 grams - Methamphetamine.
