From The Kentucky State Police -
On Saturday night September 7, 2019 at approximately 8:22 p.m. Kentucky State Police, Post 10 Harlan received a call from Knox County Dispatch requesting assistance with a shooting on Hazel Fork Road in the Gray community of Knox County.
Troopers and Detectives from Post 10 responded to the scene and began an investigation.
After further investigation it was determined that 58 year old Dennis Medlin, of Gray Kentucky, shot Joe Elliott in the neck/arm area. Mr. Elliott was flown to University of Kentucky Medical Center and remains in stable condition.
Mr. Medlin was arrested and charged with assault 1st degree and lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
The case remains open by Detective Aaron Frederick.
