Laurel Sheriff's Detective Sgt. Chris Edwards along with Sgt. John Inman arrested three individuals early Wednesday morning January 9, 2019 at approximately 4:04 AM.
The arrests occurred following an investigation conducted after a female assault victim was brought to Corbin Healthcare Hospital for treatment following an alleged incident where her boyfriend had apparently fired a weapon(rifle)multiple times in the vicinity of the victim.
In addition, it was learned through investigation that the accused had also sprayed the female victim with a fire extinguisher and then had struck her in the back and side with the fire extinguisher canister causing injury. Sheriff Root stated that Drug investigations will continue by the Laurel County Sheriff's Office.
Congrats on your bust and all, but when the Hell did we start arresting people for public intoxication at private residences? By that logic, anyone going to a friend's house to drink could be charged with the same crime as the two ancillary subjects in this case were. I guess it must be okay to waste taxpayer dollars on making questionable arrests these days. 🤔
