Barbourville man arrested for possession of counterfeit money

A Barbourville man was arrested Saturday evening August 24, 2019 after a search warrant was executed at his home.


When Barbourville Police Department served a search warrant at the home of John D. Pasternak of Jackson Street, they located $9,900 in fake U.S. currency.

Pasternak was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument, Second Degree.


The charged levied against Pasternak says that he allegedly with knowledge that it is forged and with intent to defraud, deceive or injure another, he utters or possesses any forged instrument of a kind specified in KRS 516.030.


The charge is a Class D felony.
