Bell County Volunteer Fire Department holds officer election, Howard now at the helm

From the Bell County Volunteer Fire Department -

In April of each year, the members of the Bell County Volunteer Fire Department (BCVFD) elect the officers to serve for the ensuing year. (2022-2023). The department elected the following officers:


Tim Howard was elected Chief. Chief Howard has served the BCVFD for 33 years. He joined the department in 1989 as a fire fighter with the Right Fork Company. He has served as Captain, Battalion Chief, Board Member and now he has been elected Chief. Howard said: “Being a volunteer has been a great honor. To be able to help others through the fire service has been my greatest joy. I’m honored for the confidence our membership has placed in me."


Elected as the Assistant Chief was Adron Wilson. As a 39 year member, there are few roles Assistant Chief Wilson has not served. He joined the department in 1983 as a fire fighter with the Arjay Company. He has serve as Captain, Public Relations Officer, Training Officer and led the Junior Fire Fighter Program. He has also served as President of the Board of Directors. When asked how he felt, he said, “I was surprised but I am honored. Going into my 40th year, is a long time, but I am excited”.


C. J. Southerland was elected as Battalion Chief I. Battalion Chief Southerland joined the ranks of the BCVFD as a fire fighter in 2013 with the Calloway Company. Now in his ninth year of service, he was re-elected to this position. His responsibility and duties include leading the Truck Committee that oversees maintenance and service operations, in addition to fire fighting responsibilities.


George Molnar was elected as Battalion Chief II. Battalion Chief Molnar moved to Bell County in 2018 and in that same year he joined the department as fire fighter with the East Pineville Company. In 2019 he was elected to the position of Battalion Chief and in 2020 he was elected Assistant Chief. His responsibilities and duties as Battalion Chief II, include leading the Building and Grounds Committee. He oversees all issues related to the departments various stations.
