From Sheriff John Root -
Laurel Sheriff’s Detective Daniel Grigsby arrested 34 year old Sandra K. Lovins of Keavy on Friday, May 3, 2019 at approximately 3:44 PM off West City Dam Rd., approximately 10 miles South of London following an investigation conducted by Detective Grigsby and Deputy Rick Cloyd.
An investigation had been conducted on an alleged burglary where numerous items valued at over $15,000 had been taken from a residence off West City Dam Rd. on approximately April 29, 2019.
Investigators developed leads on a possible suspect who was later determined to be the landlord of a rental property there. Investigators were able to determine that hair extensions found in Lovins' residence were the same hair extensions taken from the victim who rented the residence. Allegedly, the landlord stated she had taken the property until she received past due rent. Sheriff’s investigators have recovered most of the stolen property.
Lovins stated she had given a large smart TV belonging to the victim to someone else and threw a suitcase and karaoke speaker in a ditch off the roadway.
Sandra Lovins was charged with burglary – second-degree; theft by unlawful taking $500 or more but under $10,000; tampering with physical evidence. She was lodged in the Laurel County detention center.
