From the Claiborne County Sheriff's Department -

On Thursday, October 10, 2019, Claiborne County Sheriff’s Office Deputies and Detectives responded to a call at a residence on Snodgrass Rd. in New Tazewell. When they arrived, they discovered an elderly woman, Winona Ostrander, 66 had been brutally beaten.
Detectives determined the victim had been assaulted by her caregiver, Craig Douglas Chapman JR., 43. Winona Ostrander was airlifted to the University of Tennessee Medical Center.
While investigating the scene, detectives discovered several deceased and severely mutilated dogs and cats in the residence and on the property. Several living dogs and cats were rescued from the property and transported to the Claiborne County Animal Shelter.
Deputies had arrested Chapman the night before for Public Intoxication and unlawful carrying of a weapon after discovering him swinging a sword in the roadway.
Chapman’s additional charges include Aggravated Assault, Aggregated Neglect of a Vulnerable Adult, 5 counts of Aggravated Cruelty to Animals and Reckless Endangerment with a Deadly Weapon.
It takes a coward to beat up on any female. Especially your elders.
