Danville Kentucky man charged as a fugitive out of Virginia caught in Middlesboro

Monday, July 15, 2019 – At 6:10pm Middlesboro Police arrested a Danville Kentucky man wanted as a fugitive out of Lee County.


The man, identified as 49 year old Roby Keith Thompson Jr. AKA Joseph Denny Bradshaw, AKA Jody K. Bradshaw, was apprehended after a call to dispatch of an individual looking for a ride out of the area. The man allegedly stated to the caller that he was wanted.



Thompson Jr. was taken into custody on the Highway 441 in Middlesboro by Officer Jeremiah Johnson and Lt. David Buis.


The Lee County Virginia Sheriff’s Department tells WRIL that their deputies were in pursuit of Thompson Jr. Sunday night July 14, 2019 after a call about a man who attempted to kidnap a woman while armed with a weapon.


Roby Keith Thompson Jr. was lodged in the Bell County Detention Center with no bond awaiting extradition back to Virginia.


Lee County Virginia Deputy Jeff Smith is in charge of the investigation.
