From Clay County Sheriff Patrick Robinson
Clay County Sheriff Deputy Tommy Houston arrested Lester Smith age 63 of Sacker on February 9, 2019 at approximately 8:00 PM.
The arrest occurred while assisting Manchester City Police Officer Ryan Jackson on a traffic stop in the R&S Parking lot. The driver gave consent to search the vehicle in which a firearm was located. Once the firearms identifiers was ran through Clay County 911 it was confirmed stolen. On the person of the subject was debit cards that belonged to other individuals.
Assisting at the scene was Clay County Sheriff Patrick Robinson, Clay County Sheriff Deputy Jeremy Gabbard, Manchester City Police Detective Gary Jordan and Manchester City Police Officer Taye Napier. The photo attached is courtesy the Clay County Detention Center.
Lester Smith age 63 was charged with the following:
• Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon • Theft by Unlawful Taking- Firearm • Know/fraudulently use ID or electronic code for benefits
