Harlan County Sheriff's Office nets two arrests after executing a search warrant in Kenvir

From the Harlan County Sheriff's Office -

On Sunday, January 15, 2023, the Harlan County Sheriff's Office executed a search warrant at a residence in the Kenvir community.


As deputies made entry into the residence they quickly detained two subjects and secured a firearm sitting on a couch. During a search of the residence several baggies of suspected methamphetamine and cocaine were seized as well as a mixture of pills.


Also seized was a Taurus 9mm handgun 682 dollars US currency and various electronical devises. Assisting Deputy Bryan Napier was Sheriff Chris Brewer, Lieutenant John Teagle, Constable Scotty Moore and deputies Austin Reynolds, Jeremy Jones and Chris Hickey.


RJ Penny was arrested for trafficking in controlled substance (methamphetamine), trafficking in a controlled substance (cocaine), Possession of a controlled substance 3rd degree and drug paraphernalia buy/possess.

Stephanie Holbrook - HCDC

Stephanie Holbrook was arrested on two bench warrants.


Additional charges are pending in this investigation.

Eric Edens - HCDC

While on patrol in the Mary Alice community around midnight, deputies Austin Reynolds and Jeremy Jones observed a subject on a bicycle in the roadway. Deputies attempted to make contact with subject and he fled on foot. After a brief foot pursuit, Eric Edens was apprehended and arrested on a bench warrant as well as fleeing or evading the police 2nd degree.
