Home visit nets an arrest and citing to Bell County court

On Wednesday September 25, 2019, approximately 11:30am Bell County Deputies Edward Dray, Brad Southern, and Chief Deputy Doug Jordan assisted the office of Probation and Parole on a home visit in the Kettle Island community due to due to reports of drug related activity at the residence. The individuals involved were identified as Kenneth Carl Erwin and Rayann Erwin/Mitchem/Blevins.


Upon their arrival the deputies made contact with both suspects, along with a visitor. All three were detained and Mirandized.


Immediately upon entry into the home Deputy Dray detected a strong odor of Marijuana. Within plain view of the master bedroom, was a pot with a plant approximately 3.5 feet in height, believed to be Marijuana, located on the floor at the foot of the bed. Also in plain view was a small metal spoon, containing a clear crystal substance, believed to be Crystal Methamphetamine. Located on the dresser was a clear glass pipe/bulb, containing substance believed to be Methamphetamine.


On night stands in the bedroom was found three "roaches," believed to contain Marijuana, a small clear plastic bag, containing a green leafy substance, believed to be Marijuana, and a capped syringe "loaded," with a red liquid substance, believed to be a controlled substance. In a kitchen cabinet was discovered numerous syringes/needles (capped), aluminum foil, scissors, and numerous small clear plastic bags, which were also found throughout the residence.


Kenneth Carl Erwin was found to have two outstanding criminal summons and Rayann Erwin to possess three outstanding arrest warrants. Kenneth Erwin was placed under arrest and lodged in the Bell County Detention Center, but due to a variety of serious medical conditions Rayann Erwin was unable to be lodged and was cited to court. The visitor did not possess any dangerous contraband and/or warrants and she was released from custody.


The Erwins were charged with:

Cultivating Marijuana, <5 Plants, 1st Offense;

Possession Controlled Substance, 1st Degree, 1st Offense (Methamphetamine)

Buying/possessing Drug Paraphernalia, Buy/Possess;

Possession Controlled Substance.
