From Kentucky State Police -
On Sunday, August 16th Kentucky State Police, Post 10 in Harlan received a call that a male individual was attempting to sell a child at the Speedy Mart in Corbin.
According to the investigation, this individual was attempting to sell the African American child for $2,500. A description and license plate of the vehicle was reported to KSP. Troopers were able to locate the White Nissan at an address on Spider Creek road in Corbin.
Troopers were able to locate the child at the residence of 26 year old Gertrude Henson, the mother of the child. While at the residence troopers found Methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Both Henson and 29 year old Harry Day admitted to recent use of Methamphetamine earlier in the day.
Harry Day was charged with promoting human trafficking - child under 18 and DUI.
Gertrude Henson was charged with possession of Methamphetamine, possession of controlled substance 3rd, possession of drug paraphernalia, and 2 counts of endangering the welfare of a minor.
The case remains under investigation by TPR Kyle Trosper.
Harry Day has already plead guilty on Monday August 17th to the charge of human trafficking of a four year-old child for $2,500, will spend just under a year in jail.
