Daniel Lowry media spokesman for Kentucky Utilities tells WRIL that a contract worker with the Davis H. Elliott company, doing work for Kentucky Utilities, has been injured due to an electrocution (shock) at Rice Hill Road and Green Camp Road in the Arjay Community of Bell County while working on a main line.

The unidentified worker has been transported from the scene for injuries sustained in the incident by Bell County EMS to Southeastern Kentucky Medical Center to be flown out to UT Hospital by Air Evac. He was alert and talking while being transported.

Due to this incident power was out in the area and close to 1800 customers are without power. The KU outage map shows that power is set to be restored by 4:30pm after an investigation is conducted.

No word yet on whether or not any schools will dismiss early.
