Middlesboro Police arrest a passenger of traffic stop on drug and handgun charges

Friday evening November 6, 2020 just before 6pm, Middlesboro Officer Jeremiah Johnson conducted a traffic stop on Fairview Road on a blue BMW driven by Taressa Borden of Pineville, Ky. for traffic violations.


During Officer Johnson's investigation of the stop, a passenger - identified as 32 year old Willie G. Flanary of Middlesboro - was found to be in possession of several illegal substances suspected to be Heroin, Methamphetamine, and Alprazolam tablets. He was also found to have cash, digital scales, and a handgun.

Flanary was arrested on scene and charged with trafficking in controlled substance - 1st degree (Heroin), trafficking in controlled substance - 1st degree (Methamphetamine), trafficking in controlled substance - 3rd degree, and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.


Taressa Borden was cited for no signal and an open container violation.


Also assisting on scene with the investigation was Sgt. Kenny Vanover and Officer Jake Parin.
