Middlesboro Police Serve Search Warrant on Convicted Felon Finding Several Drugs and a Gun

On Friday afternoon August 7, 2026, Middlesboro Police executed a search warrant at the Exter Avenue residence of 34-year-old Larry K. Presnell III.
According to the citation of Lt./Det Barry Cowan, during the search officers found "countless bags" of drugs including Cocaine, Methamphetamine, and Fentanyl. Also found was a Davis 25 caliber handgun. This was after a lengthy investigation into drug trafficking.
Parolee Presnell had previously been convicted in May of 2010 on charges of robbery - 1st degree and trafficking controlled substance - 1st degree - drug unspecified and given a 10-year sentence. He was convicted again in December of 2021 for possession of controlled substance - 1st degree - drug unspecified.
Larry K. Presnell III was arrested and lodged in the Bell County Detention Center, charged with trafficking in controlled substance - 1st degree, 1st offense - greater than 4 grams - Cocaine, trafficking in controlled substance - 1st degree, 1st offense - greater than 2 grams - Methamphetamine, trafficking in controlled substance - 1st offense - Carfentanyl or Fentanyl derivatives, possession of controlled substance - 2nd degree - drug unspecified, and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
He was also served a parole violation and three bench warrants.
