One traffic stop produces 3 arrests in Middlesboro

On Monday night just before 11:00pm Middlesboro Officer Nick Capps stopped a Gold Cadillac driven by Brooke Jones of London Kentucky who had an active indictment warrant. Officer Capps states in his citation that upon stopping the vehicle at 30th and Winchester Avenue he made contact with Jones and confirmed the warrant arresting her.


Consent was then given by Jones to search the vehicle. A passenger in the car, 35 year old Dustin Baker of Middlesboro, was asked to step out and seen were two green pills marked “A/49” in the seat where he was sitting.

After placing Baker under arrest another passenger in the rear driver’s side, 23 year old Stephen Jones, was asked to step out of the vehicle. Found in a compartment near where he was seated was a crystal-like substance believed to be Methamphetamine scattered around as if he had tried to get rid of it according to Capps. Jones was then arrested.

All three were lodged in the Bell County Detention Center.


Brooke Jones was served the indictment warrant for failure to appear in court with 10% of $5,000 bond.

Dustin Baker was charged with possession of controlled substance 1st degree 1st offense – drug unspecified, no bond set yet.

Stephen Jones was charged with possession of controlled substance 1st degree 1st offense – Methamphetamine and given a $1,500 bond.
