Update to the pursuit Thursday morning

As we told you Thursday morning, there was a pursuit of a gold Ford Taurus coming out of the Speedwell Tennessee area into Harrogate via Highway 63 and then Highway 25E. The Claiborne County Sheriff's Department has now released details on this chase and subsequent arrests of two men.


On Thursday morning February 14, 2019 Sgt. Dewayne Napier observed a vehicle driven by 38 year old Jeffery Drinnon Jr of Moorseburg Tn and passenger 32 year old Adam Rhea of Morristown Tennessee driving suspiciously on Back Valley road in Speedwell, Tennessee.


When Sgt. Napier attempted to stop the vehicle, the suspects lead him - along with Deputies Adam Southern, Carl Mozingo, Brian Isbell, and Medic/Swat Jacob Crawford into a high speed pursuit running down highway 63 into Harrogate then onto northbound Highway 25E stopping 100 yards or so from the turn off.

Upon stopping the vehicle, Deputy Southern observed Adam Rhea in possession of a firearm. After detaining the suspects, Claiborne County Deputies recovered a Ruger semi automatic handgun, over three pounds of marijuana, small amount of Methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia.






Both Drinnon Jr. and Rhea were arrested and lodged in the Claiborne County Jail.

Jeffery Drinnon Jr. is charged with reckless driving, reckless endangerment, evading arrest, driving while suspended, felony possession of schedule 6 (Marijuana), Drug Free School Zone Act, no seatbelt, and no insurance.


Adam Rhea is being charged with possession of a firearm, felony possession of schedule 6 (Marijuana), drug paraphernalia, Drug Free School Zone Act, and four counts of aggravated assault on an officer.
