Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Tommy Houston arrested 68 year old Marcum McWhorter of London on Monday night September 30, 2019 at approximately 11:59 PM on KY 490 approximately 6 miles north of London.
While Deputy Houston was on routine patrol, and upon entering a sharp curve, McWhorter staggered out into the roadway causing Deputy Houston to take defensive action to avoid striking him. An investigation was conducted and McWhorter was determined to be under the influence.
Marcum McWhorter was charged with wanton endangerment – second-degree; public intoxication – controlled substances. In addition, he was charged on a Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court and lodged in the Laurel County correctional center.
