WRIL has recieved multiple messages and calls regarding the release of 35-year-old Randell Storms from Bell County Detention center custody after being indicted by a grand jury.

Bell County Sheriff Mitchell Williams has released a statement clarifying it was not due to any issues from his department which investigated the case.

In a facebook post the sheriff's department states:

"The Bell County Sheriff's Department has been made aware of an incident in which an individual charged with mutiple sexual offenses has been released from custody.

For the record, Randell Storms was charged on May 30, 2025 with Kidnapping - minor, Rape - 1st degree - incapable of consent, Sexual abuse - 1st degree - victim under 12 years of age, Terroristic threatening - 3rd degree, and Procuring or Promoting use of a minor by electronic means.

The deputy in charge of the case presented the evidence on the appointed day October 23, 2025, to the Bell County Grand Jury.

The Grand Jury did return a true bill and Randell Storms was indicted on the above charges. The indictment number is 25-CR-00300. The sheriff's department is unaware as to the circumstances or conditions of his release from custody."

Storms was initally given a $250,000 cash bond, which was later reduced to $225,000.

WRIL has learned that due to a lack of indictment within the initial 60 day requirement, Storms received an OR bond on the sexual charges in August, but due to assault charges acquired while in custody against another inmate, he had to serve that sentence before being released.

During his assault sentence is when the October indictment took place.

We hope to have more on this issue soon.
