A Middlesboro man is under arrest after a driving incident. Just after midnight Friday morning February 15, 2019, Middlesboro Officer Nick Capps was behind a 2002 red Ford truck on Highway 441 when he noticed the vehicle's rear license plate not illuminated.
Officer Capps states in his citation that he also observed the vehicle crossed the center line multiple times approaching a four-way stop.
Capps stated that the driver, 27 year old Christopher L. Murray, was found to have a suspended operator's license. Also, consent was given to search Murray and his truck. During the search Officer Capps found a baggy containing a crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine in Murray's right pocket.
Christopher Murray was arrested and lodged in the Bell County Detention Center charged with rear license plate not illuminated, operating on a suspended or revoked operator's license, failure to maintain insurance, and possession of controlled substance 1st degree, 1st offense- Methamphetamine.
