Driver suffers medical emergency in Middlesboro, found dead along roadway

A short time after 1:30 Saturday morning July 27, 2019 Bell County Sheriff's Deputy Edward Dray responded to a call of a dump truck along the side of northbound Highway 25E in the vicinity of old Ward Chapel School.


According to Bell County Coroner Jay Steele and Bell County Dispatch, once Deputy Dray was on scene he discovered the driver had suffered a medical emergency appearing to be a heart attack, pulled off the side of the road, and died.


Bell County EMS was contacted and arrived on scene a short time later along with Bell County Deputy Coroner Steve Robinson and Coroner Steele. Robinson tells WRIL that the driver, now identified as 53 year old Henry McNett was found by his employer and had been deceased for several hours.


Deputy Coroner Steve Robinson is in charge of this case.
