Gray, Ky. driver forces another vehicle off the road then runs from police.

On Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at approximately 11:00 pm Knox County Deputy Mikey Ashurst observed a vehicle traveling on US 25 E making a turn onto Sam Parker Road in Gray.


When the driver of the vehicle saw Deputy Ashurst, he accelerated to a high rate of speed. Deputy Ashurst also observed the vehicle force another vehicle out of the roadway. The driver door was opened while the vehicle was still in motion and as it stopped, the driver jumped from the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot.


After apprehending the driver, Charles Douglas Tuttle age 47 of Gray, KY, he became combative and non-compliant. He was arrested and charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence, Operating on Suspended/Revoked Operators License, No Insurance, No Registration Plates, Speeding, Fleeing or Evading Police-1st Degree. Fleeing or Evading Police-2nd Degree and Resisting Arrest.


Charles Tuttle was charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle when Deputy Ashurst learned he had taken the car without the owner’s permission. Charles Tuttle was wanted on a Knox County Arrest Warrant for Wanton Endangerment-2nd Degree, Menacing, Resisting Arrest and Fleeing or Evading Police-2nd Degree and a Laurel County Bench Warrant for failure to appear on No Operators License and Failure to Produce Insurance charges. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.


He was also served a parole violation which has no bond.
