Knox County traffic stop leads to two arrests

From The Knox County, Ky Sheriff's Department -

On Saturday, May 11, 2019 at approximately 2:05 am Knox County Deputies Bobby Jones and James Fox were conducting a traffic stop on Bailey Hollow Road in Gray when they made contact with two people in a 2019 Hyundai.

When the deputies approached the vehicle to advise them to turn around, they could detect the strong order of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle.

After checking the two occupants, the deputies located approximately 2 ounces of suspected crystal methamphetamine, two loaded syringes and a small quantity of marijuana.

Shalane E Johnson age 27 Barbourville, KY and Jimmy Gregory Dennis age 40 of Rome GA were both arrested and charged with Trafficking in Controlled Substance-1st Degree (methamphetamine), Trafficking in Marijuana-less than 8 ounces and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Shalane Johnson and Jimmy Dennis were lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
