Deputy Gary Mehler arrested 35 year old Samuel C. Cassise age 35 of Villagewood Court, London on Thursday night January 24, 2019 at approximately 7:30 PM.
The arrest occurred off Villagewood court, approximately 4 miles South of London following an investigation conducted by Deputy Mehler after he was dispatched to St. Joseph Hospital London to investigate a complaint of an assault. Deputy Mehler learned during the investigation that allegedly the victim’s boyfriend had assaulted her by picking her up by her throat and dragging her through the residence by her hair.
Deputy Mehler noted numerous visible injuries on the victim including patches of hair falling out of her head. Deputy Mehler then traveled to Villagewood court speaking with Samuel Cassise before arresting him charging him with assault – 4th degree – domestic violence. In addition, Cassise was charged on a Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence and carrying a concealed weapon.
Cassise was also charged on a second Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of marijuana. He was lodged in the Laurel County detention center.
