From WRIL The Big One -

As we previously reported, there was a two-vehicle accident with serious injuries on Highway 63 at the intersection of Ausmus lane in Speedwell on Sunday evening March 1st, a short time after 5:30pm. At least one person was trapped in one of the two vehicles and had to be extricated.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol preliminary report determined that a 2010 Camry was traveling west on Highway 63 when the driver failed to maintain the lane. The vehicle then struck a 2002 Honda head-on causing serious damage to both vehicles. After the collision, the Camry left the roadway coming to rest in a grassy area off the shoulder, the Honda stopped in the middle of the road.

In all, four people were seriously injured and multiple medical helicopters were called to the scene. A passenger in the Camry, 44-year-old Stacy Vinsant, died shortly after the crash.

The report states that all occupants were wearing their seatbelts and that charges depend on the investigation results.

Also assisting on scene was the Claiborne County EMS, Claiborne County Sheriff's Department, Harrogate Volunteer Fire Department, LifeStar, and Speedwell Fire Department.
