From The Claiborne County Sheriff's Office

On Tuesday, January 9, 2023 detectives with the Claiborne County Sheriff’s Office became familiar with the whereabouts of Mary Elizabeth Lipfird, wanted in Alabama for Violation of Probation for Trafficking Methamphetamine and Drug Paraphernalia. Through the investigation, it was determined that Lipfird rented a room at the Imperial Inn in Tazewell TN.

Upon making contact with the residents in room 223, Detectives observed Lipfird, standing next to the microwave in the room. They made entry into the room taking her in custody. In plain view, the detectives observed illegal narcotics.

Through the investigation a large amount of Methamphetamine (approximately 292 Grams), approximately 8 grams of suspected Heroin, several tablets believed to be Ecstacy, and cash believed to be from the profits of the illegal sale of narcotics was recovered.

In addition to the arrest of Mary Lipford, three other individuals - Allison G. Lipfird, Tiffany A. Slezak, and Gregg Martinez Sr.. were also taken into custody and lodged in the Claiborne County Jail. All four were charged with various drug distribution and possession charges.

Sheriff Bob Brooks wants to thank the Tazewell Police Department and the Tennessee Probation and Parole Officers involved. The sheriff stated in a social media post: "Positive things happen when we come together and work together!"
