Two women, one shoplifting incident - Middlesboro

Two women were arrested for a shoplifting incident involving the same merchandise.

On Thursday night January 3rd a short time before 8:25pm Middlesboro Officers responded to a call from Walmart loss prevention of two shoplifters.


Responding to the scene was Officers Kenny Vanover and Harvey Johnson.

The officers made contact with loss prevention and were told that 51 year old Lisa Ann Partin and 36 year old Rebecca Lynn Elliott, both of Middlesboro, were jointly involved in the incident.


Partin was seen by the store employee going through the self-checkout, placing items into bags without paying, and then exit the grocery side of the store. The total of the items was $253.86. There was a standing order on record that Partin was not to be in the store due to a previous incident in July of 2016.

She was accompanied by Rebecca Elliott who, according to the citation, had control over the merchandise. Elliott was also not permitted to be on the property due to an incident from November of 2016, but she did have an outstanding warrant.


During a search incident to arrest of Lisa Partin the officers found a crystal-like rock substance believed to be Methamphetamine inside a clear plastic bag inside her glasses case in her purse. She was also found to have Hydrocodone in the same case.


Both women were lodged in the Bell County Detention Center.

Lisa Partin was charged with theft by unlawful taking/shoplifting under $500.00, possession of controlled substance 1st degree 1st offense - Methamphetamine, possession of controlled substance 1st degree 1st offense - drug unspecified, and criminal trespassing - 2nd degree.


Rebecca Elliott was charged with theft by unlawful taking/shoplifting under $500.00, criminal trespassing, and she was served the bench warrant for failure to appear on similar charges.
