Williamsburg traffic stop leads to drug charges

On June 14, 2020 at 2:23am WPD Officer Dorman Patrick Jr. stopped a Black 2002 Chevy Avalanche for traffic violations, at the intersection of HWY 25-W South and KY HWY 92 west. The vehicle was being driven by 35 year old Ryan Patrick Wilson..


During the investigation, officers discovered approximately 18 grams of crystal meth, and more than fifty Neurontin capsules. Over $2,000.00 cash was also discovered on the suspect which was seized as evidence. The suspects vehicle was impounded and seized also.


Wilson is charged with Trafficking in a controlled substance 1st degree more than 2 grams of meth, Trafficking in a controlled substance 3rd degree more than 20 dosage units but under 120, Rear license plate not illuminated, No registration plates, Failure to produce insurance card, and Operating a motor vehicle with an expired operators license.


He was lodged in the Whitley County Detention Center. WPD Officer Jason Wilson assisted with the arrest and the investigation.
