High speed pursuit after domestic dispute in Claiborne County

Claiborne County Dispatch received 911 calls of a domestic disturbance at the Rose Apts by Claiborne Medical Center in downtown Tazewell.

Tazewell Police Officers responded and were advised that a female was actively being assaulted. As officers arrived the male assailant fled and jumped into a white Ford Fusion leading officers on a pursuit.

Due to speeds and other factors the officer terminated the pursuit for the safety of the public. The Tazewell Police Department does not provide victims names of domestic violence as a policy, and out of respect for the victim.

Warrants have been issued for the suspect.
