Sex Offender On Travel Permit Arrested For Being Around Children While Non-Compliant

On Wednesday, May 7, 2025, Middlesboro Police Sgt. Jeremiah Johnson arrested a registered sex offender. 26-year-old Trendon Gorman was given a Commonwealth of Ky. Corrections Travel Permit with special instructions that he have no contact with minors.
Gorman was discovered at a Happy Hollow Apartments residence since May 2nd, where two children were living at the time of his visit. The address on the travel permit was supposed to be a different apartment within the complex.
The mother of the children at the apartment Gorman was in admitted that he had been around her children including during overnight hours on several occasions since arriving. Gorman also admitted to being around the children for brief periods of time.
Trendon Gorman was arrested and lodged in the Bell County Detention Center charged with failure to comply with sex offender registration - 1st offense and he was served a parole violation.
