On Thursday June 13, 2019, at approximately 5:42pm, Bell County Dispatch received a call of a burglary in progress at a residence on Balkan Road involving 38 year old George Johnson of Calloway.

Responding to the scene was Bell County Deputy Adam Southern along with KSP Troopers Taylor Mills and Josh Messer. Upon arrival, Deputy Southern noticed a trail through kudzu behind the residence which lead to Johnson and the two women approximately 200 yards from the residence.
