Barbourville man arrested over bomb threat

A Barbourville man is charged with felony terroristic threatening after Knox County 911 received a call last Tuesday that a bomb was about to go off.


The subject who called in the threat hung up after making the threat. Barbourville Police was able to trace the number the call came from to an apartment building on Third Street. The apartment’s occupant, 63-year-old Harry Taylor was placed under arrest and charged with terroristic threatening in the second degree.


The warrant states that the threatening call was placed less than a quarter of a mile from schools and an apartment complex for the elderly. Taylor remain held in the Knox County Detention Center on a $10,000 bond. He was arraigned on Monday and set for a preliminary hearing on January 11.
