Toward the end of the Bell County Fiscal Court meeting on Tuesday, December 9th, Judge Executive Albey Brock asked if there was anything else to discuss. At that point, 62-year-old Jesse Adkins, current democrat candidate for Bell County Jailer, stood up asking to address the court.
During his time addressing the court, he made several claims against the judge executive, fiscal court, jailer, county attorney, and media outlets about his supposed treatment during various arrests over the years, including time spent in the Bell County Detention Center.
While reading from what he called “evidence” he became increasingly agitated further claiming that he wasn’t being allowed to talk and for Judge Brock to “let him talk” although no one else was speaking.
After making his claims he said he was leaving, and he was escorted to the entrance of the courthouse by Bell County deputies after refusing to leave the building.
While heading down the steps outside the building Adkins then verbally accosted and threatened a woman and her child. He was taken into custody and lodged in the Knox County Detention Center charged by Detective Hunter Luttrell with alcohol intoxication in a public place – 1st and 2nd offense, disorderly conduct, and menacing.
