Bell County couple arrested on multiple drug warrants, drugs and a gun also found during arrests

From The Bell County Sheriff's Department -

On Wednesday night October 11, 2023, Bell County Sheriff Units Sgt. Frank Foster, Deputy Jody Risner, and Deputy Austin Poindexter executed warrants at a Varilla Road residence arresting 48-year old Lee Watts and 43-year-old Candace Watts, both of Calvin, Ky.


The warrants stemmed from drug investigations from the Bell County Sheriff’s Office, Appalachia Narcotics Investigations, and Operation Unite.


Also on the scene were Chaplain Allen Sanders and Chaplain Rick Dorton. Seized during the arrest were multiple bags of a powdery substance believed to be Heroin, multiple pills believed to be Oxycodone, multiple distribution bags, $1,359.00 in cash, and a .380 pistol.


Both Lee and Candace Watts were lodged in the Bell County Detention Center and have been charged with trafficking in controlled substance - 1st degree, 1st offense - less than 10 dosage units (drug unspecified), (3) three counts of trafficking in controlled substance - 1st offense (Heroin), trafficking in controlled substance - 1st degree, 1st offense - greater than 2 grams (Fentanyl), and buying or possessing drug paraphernalia.


Lee Watts was additionally charged (1) one count of trafficking in controlled substance - 1st offense (Heroin) and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.


Both are being held on multiple $25,000 cash bonds.
