Bell County EMT Arrested and Charged With Theft

On February 13, 2026, Detective Hunter Luttrell of the Bell County Sheriff's Office, along with K-9 Deputy Keith Fuson and Sgt. Cody Bargo from the Harlan County Sheriff's Office, arrested 24-year-old Emily Rayne Long, an EMT with the Bell County EMS, for stealing a payroll check worth $1,128.05 on January 30, 2026.
An investigation was initiated by the Bell County Fiscal Court and Sheriff's Department after confirming the theft of a payroll check on January 30, 2026. The Fiscal Court placed a stop on the check upon notification of the theft and has subsequently terminated Long's employment with the county.
The investigation identified Emily Long as the individual who stole the $1,128.05 check. Emily Long was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center, charged with theft by unlawful taking over $1,000 but under $10,000.
This case is still under investigation by the Bell County Sheriff’s Office.
All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
