Enforcement actions from May 29 – June 6, 2019
On Wednesday May 29, 2019 Bell County Deputy Jacob Perry served a bench warrant on 38 year old Tonya Bundy of Pineville for failure to appear in court on March 26, 2019. She was lodged in the Bell County Detention Center.
On Saturday June 1, 2019 Bell County Deputy Adam Southern arrested Juwanna Leanna Sturgill of Kettle Island for trafficking controlled substance – Methamphetamine and buying/possessing drug paraphernalia. Ms. Sturgill was a back seat passenger in a vehicle during a safety checkpoint on Highway 221 and the items were found during a search of the vehicle. Also arrested during the incident was front seat passenger Erica Lynn Jackson of Pineville. She was charged with possession of controlled substance 1st degree, 1st offense – Methamphetamine. Details of the incident were released at an earlier time. Both women were lodged in the Bell County Detention Center.
On Saturday June 1, 2019 Bell County Deputy Adam Southern arrested 34 year old Crystal Dawn Mink of Stoney Fork, Kentucky after several calls to dispatch of a woman “talking out of her head” in the Jenson Hollow area. This included showing up on a caller’s door step. Deputy Southern made contact with Ms. Mink who he determined was under the influence of some type of drug/intoxicant. She was lodged in the Bell County Detention Center.
On Monday June 3, 2019 Bell County Deputy Max Graves arrested 43 year old Roy D. Sanders of Pineville on two bench warrants for child support and a pay or stay warrant on a previous drug and persistent felony offender charge. He was lodged in the Bell County Detention Center.
On Monday June 3, 2019 Bell County Deputy Jacob Perry served a warrant on 28 year old Leanna Napier of Evarts on a failure to appear in court warrant. Initially Ms. Napier was arrested on a Methamphetamine charge by Middlesboro Police Officer Nick Capps and gave him a different name. She was later found to have nine outstanding bench warrants which were executed at the Bell County Detention Center where she is currently being held without bond.
On Monday June 3, 2019 Bell County Court Security Deputy Bradley Dye served a bench warrant on 27 year old Jordyn B. Beal of Middlesboro at the Farmer Helton Judicial Center for failure to appear on June 20, 2017. She was lodged in the Bell County Detention Center.
On Wednesday June 5, 2019 Bell County Court Security Deputy Bradley Dye arrested 36 year old Jennifer K. Mason at the Farmer Helton Judicial Center on a bench warrant for failure to comply with drug court. She was lodged in the Bell County Detention Center.
On Thursday June 6, 2019 Bell County Deputy Adam Southern arrested 27 year old Benjamin Colburn Rose of Barbourville on Cannon Creek Lake Road. Deputy Southern states that Rose was the driver of a green Pontiac that was in the middle of the road running. Upon contact with Rose, Deputy Southern observed that he was exhibiting behavior consistent with being intoxicated. Rose admitted to the deputy that he had been drinking and having a “pill” problem. He was found to be in possession of Oxycontin pills and after standard field sobriety tests, under the influence. Benjamin Colburn Rose was arrested and lodged in the Bell County Detention charged with possession of controlled substance 1st degree, 1st offense - drug unspecified and operating a motor vehicle under the influence 1st degree (aggravated circumstances.)
On Thursday June 6, 2019 Bell County Deputy Patrick Brooks arrested 74 year old Roger Smith of Middlesboro after being served six pay or stay warrants and two failure to appear warrants for April 15, 2019 and May 9, 2019. He was lodged in the Bell County Detention Center.
