CAUGHT: Williamsburg escapee alert, public help requested

This woman has been captured by the Knoxville Police Department a short time after midnight Tuesday May 14, 2019.

Initial story:

The department is requesting the public’s help locating a female escapee last seen near the I-75 visitor’s center just North of Jellico, Tennessee. She is believed to have escaped around 7 p.m. May 13, 2019.


The prisoner, whose name has yet to be released, was being transferred from Georgia. At the time she escaped, she should have still been wearing leg shackles.


She is a white female, approximately 5’6” tall and weighs around 160 pounds. She has dark hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing a black t-shirt with graffiti like art on it and blue jeans.

We have reached out to Police Chief Wayne Bird for additional information on the identity of the escaped inmate and expect to update the story shortly.
