From The Claiborne County Sheriff's Department -
On the morning of Tuesday October 27, 2020, the Claiborne County Criminal Investigations Division and the Sheriff’s Office S.W.A.T. Team executed a narcotics search warrant at the home of 22 year old James Charles Short, located at 126 Thomas Cook Lane in Cumberland Gap.
The search warrant was the result of a lengthy investigation by the Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Detectives into the distribution of methamphetamine throughout the area. During the search, Detectives found and seized methamphetamine, currency, a firearm and drug paraphernalia. James Charles Short was arrested and charged with Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance for Resale, Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of a Firearm During a Felony. Short was also served with warrants stemming from the theft of a motor vehicle earlier this month.
Also present in the residence was 23 year old Cheyenne Nichole Short and 29 year old Paul M. Oboroff both of which were arrested and charged with Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance for Resale and Drug Paraphernalia.
During the course of the search 55 year old Donna L Baker was found to have Suboxone and was charged with Possession of a Schedule III Controlled Substance. Parties involved in the Sale or Delivery of Schedule Narcotics are to expect charges in the future for their participation in narcotic distribution.
All four individuals were lodged in the Claiborne County Jail.
