From WRIL -
On Friday evening April 2, 2021 Claiborne County Tennessee Sheriff's Deputies and Tazewell Police responded to a "rolling domestic" in progress in Tazewell. The vehicle was identified as a red trailblazer with two individuals fighting inside.
During an attempted traffic stop, a woman passenger attempted to get out of the Trailblazer while it was in motion but the driver, later identified as Jason Brooks of Tazewell (formerly of Ewing, Virginia) jerked her back into the vehicle not allowing her to exit. A pursuit then took place attempting to stop Brooks.
The chase made it's way through Claiborne County into Hancock County, then into Lee County Virginia, back into Claiborne and then again into Lee County. During the pursuit Jason Brooks came very close to striking law enforcement vehicles and at one point forced a Lee County Sheriff's deputy off the road. After a lengthy chase, spike strips were deployed and Brooks was stopped on Frog Level Road in Ewing, Virginia.
Jason Brooks was taken into custody and lodged in the Duffield Regional Jail. His charges are pending in Virginia and he will be extradited back to Tennessee.
Sheriff Bob Brooks tells WRIL that Jason Brooks is facing several charges in Tennessee including felony fleeing and evading, failure to stop, fleeing arrest, and possible wanton endangerment.
