Claiborne County teacher arrested and charged with sexual offenses

From WRIL/Public records -

Aaron James Ellison - CCJ

A Claiborne County teacher was arrested on Monday, December 2, 2019 after an investigation conducted by Claiborne County Detective Eric Fraley over allegations concerning sexual exploitation of a minor.

Detective Fraley's complaint affidavit states that upon completion the investigation, it was determined that between August 2019 and November 2019, Aaron James Ellison of Harrogate, Tennessee did solicit five images from a thirteen year old female juvenile. The images were sexual in nature containing images of the juvenile's breasts and genitals and shared via Instagram.

Fraley continues in his affidavit stating that Ellison also sent the female juvenile eleven images of his genitals via Instagram.

Ellison is a school teacher at H.Y. Livesay School and the juvenile victim was a student of his at the time of these incidents.

Aaron James Ellison has been lodged in the Claiborne County Jail charged with:

(16) sixteen counts of aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor and (5) five counts of solicitation of a minor to observe sexual conduct.

We have reached out to Claiborne County Schools Superintendent Dr. Linda Keck. Dr. Keck states that the school system has been made aware of the arrest of Aaron Ellison related to the student. She goes on to tell WRIL that though they understand that all criminal suspects are presumed innocent, they take these charges very seriously, especially since they center on a Claiborne County student.

Dr. Keck states that Aaron Ellison has already been suspended without pay pending the outcome of his criminal case.

Ellison was arraigned before noon on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 and given a $100,000 signature bond which was posted by his father Chester Ellison.
