Middlesboro Police Arrest Local Man For Sexual Offenses

According to the citation, Sunday night July 19th, Middlesboro Police Officer James Taulbee and Sgt. Jake Quillen received information on alleged sexual interactions between 46-year-old Jimmy Brian Baker and a female victim who was 16 at the time of the incident.
Officer Taulbee states their investigation determined that Baker and a family friend contacted and had further communication with the juvenile numerous times via electronic communications and in person. During an in-person interaction, Baker had the girlto perform oral sex on him.
On Sunday the 19th, Baker was brought to Middlesboro Police headquarters for questioning and after being read his rights, admitted to the incident providing consent to the officers to seize the phone used to contact the girl.
Jimmy Brian Baker was then arrested and lodged, just after midnight Monday July 20th, in the Bell County Detention Center charged with procuring or promoting the use of a minor by electronic means and sodomy – 3rd degree.
All suspects accused of any crime are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
