From The Clay County Sheriff's Department via Manchester Enterprise -
On Monday morning October 28, 2019 at approximately 11:20 AM Clay County Sheriff Patrick Robinson arrested 28 year old David Griffie, of South Highway 421. The arrest occurred when Sheriff Robinson responded to a Domestic Assault between a Father and Son on South Highway 421.
Sheriff Robinson located the victim, during the investigation Sheriff Robinson observed Griffie approaching him in an aggressive manner with his fist clinched.
Sheriff Robinson gave verbal commands for him to stop, at which time Griffie charged Sheriff Robinson.
Sheriff Robinson deployed his taser at which time was ineffective, Griffie pulled the prongs out of his body then proceeded to flee from Sheriff Robinson. While the sheriff gave chase, Griffie picked up a piece of a concrete block and attempted to hit Sheriff Robinson with it. He then deployed a second taser that was also ineffective against Griffie.
Griffie then ran through a creek in an attempt to get away The sheriff was able to locate Griffie who then resisted arrest. After a brief struggle he was placed under arrest without further incident.
David Griffie was charged with
Resisting Arrest, Menacing, Fleeing or Evading Police - 2nd Degree (On Foot), Assault, 4th Degree, and he was served a bench warrant for court..
