From Laurel County Sheriff John Root -
Sgt. Greg Poynter along with Deputy Travis Napier arrested 43 year old Jacqueline C. Thurmond of London on Monday night April 22, 2019 at approximately 9:20 PM. The arrest occurred off West Laurel Rd., approximately 1 ½ miles west of London after deputies were dispatched to a four-vehicle serious injury traffic crash that occurred there.
Investigating deputies report that Thurmond, operating a silver Pontiac G6, allegedly struck three other vehicles. Deputies detected the odor of alcoholic beverages emitting from Thurmond and conducted an investigation determining that she was under the influence.
She was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence – first offense; failure of owner to maintain required insurance – first offense; assault – first-degree. This individual was lodged in the Laurel County detention center.
Assisting at the scene of the crash was Laurel Sheriff’s Deputy Hunter Disney, Bailiff Roy Ball, and Bailiff Judy Morgan.
