Dui/drug arrest at traffic crash:

Laurel Sheriff’s Deputy Jake Miller along with his K-9 “ Gotcha” and Deputy Landry Collett arrested Chad Shannon age 39 of Allie Court, Berea on Monday afternoon March 11, 2019 at approximately 2:21 PM.


The arrest occurred on I – 75 approximately 5 miles north of London after deputies were dispatched to a complaint of a reckless driver that apparently became a single vehicle traffic crash after the vehicle ran off the roadway.


Upon arrival at the scene, deputies located the red Cadillac SRX and Shannon sitting in the driver’s seat. Deputies detected the odor of alcoholic beverages emitting from Shannon and conducted an investigation determining that he was under the influence. He scuffled with deputies upon arrest before being taken into custody. In addition, deputies located syringes, scales, two glass pipes, and a clear tube containing residue that tested positive for methamphetamine.


Chad Shannon was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence – first offense; careless driving; possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – methamphetamine; possession of open alcoholic beverage container in motor vehicle prohibited; resisting arrest; possession of marijuana.


Shannon was lodged in the Laurel County detention center.
