Laurel Sheriff’s Major Chuck Johnson along with Detective Sgt. Chris Edwards are investigating a two vehicle single traffic fatality which occurred on KY 80 approximately 10 miles east of London on Friday afternoon March 22, 2019 at approximately 3:27 PM.
The investigating deputies report that apparently a 2004 Chevrolet pickup traveling westbound on KY 80 crossed the centerline hitting an international tractor-trailer head on. The tractor-trailer came to rest blocking the eastbound lane of KY 80 and the pickup came to rest blocking the westbound lane of KY 80.
• The driver of the pickup was identified as Douglas N. Hoskins age 58 of London – pronounced deceased at the scene Laurel County Coroner Doug Bowling.
• The driver of the international tractor-trailer was identified as Gary W. Curry of London – transported by Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County St. Joseph Hospital London for treatment of possible injuries.
Assisting at the scene of the crash for the Laurel County Sheriff’s office was: Detective Kyle Gray, Detective Bryon Lawson, Detective Daniel Grigsby, Deputy Hunter Disney, Deputy Travis Napier, Deputy Brad Mink, and Deputy Gilbert Acciardo.
Also assisting at the scene was: Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County, Bush Volunteer Fire department, London Laurel Rescue squad, Laurel County Coroner’s office, KSP/CVE. The investigation is continuing.
