Fugitive Hinkle Man Accused of Robbery and Shooting a Man -Apprehended by KCSO

On Friday, May 23, 2025, at approximately 8:00 am Knox County Sheriff’s Office received reports that 42-year-old Daniel Edwards of Hinkle, Ky., who is accused of robbing and shooting a man on KY 718 in Walker on May 8, 2025, was spotted in the Turkey Creek area of Knox County.  


Later in the day around 12:00 pm, Edwards was arrested after a four hour search in the surrounding mountains.


He was charged with Robbery-1st Degree, Attempted Murder, Possession of Firearm by Convicted Felon, Fleeing or Evading Police -1st Degree/Motor Vehicle and Fleeing or Evading Police-1st Degree/on Foot.


Daniel Edwards was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.

S. Marshal’s Service, Kentucky National Guard Counter Drug Reconnaissance Team, Knox County Dispatch and Knox EMS.
